After the Doctor

Sleeping on Mommy, all tuckered out from his shots today.
Poor Landon was pretty out of it and tired tonight! He did wake up to scream his head off when we used the saline spray to clean out his super stuffy nose. (Still no tears!) Dr. Wilde told us how the ratio of mixing rice cereal and formula in his nighttime bottle might help Landon sleep through the night. Landon is still drinking 5 ounce bottles, but his frequency has been increasing. Neither Chad or I are fans of waking up at all hours of the night again.  You don't add much rice to the bottle, 3 tsp for the 5 ounces, but it does make it thick enough that we are using a #4 AVENT nipple instead of a #2. We are hoping that between the rice bottle and the shot recovery Landon might sleep through the night again! (Stay Tuned!)

Doctor Visit - More Shots

Daddy and Landon were flying solo at the doctors office today while Mommy was stuck at work. Our little chunky monkey is now 11 pounds 9 ounces and in the 54 percentile! He is still in the higher percentile for height, 69%, with a towering height of 23.5 inches long. His head circumference is 15.55 inches and he is in the 36th percentile, which is not a Diffenderfer quality!

I'm ready doctor! I've torn up the paper waiting for you to arrive!
Landon had 2 shots in his legs and one was oral. Some of the shots were combination, but the vaccines he received today were: DTaP, HIB, Pneumococcal, IPV, and Rotavirus. Poor Dad had to hold him still while he got all his shots and cried his little eyes out. He still doesn't have any tears, but Doctor Wilde said his tear ducts look good and we should see tears very soon!

Chad asked him about his stuffy nose. We have been using a saline mist to clean out the mucus and it has been helping. Dr. Wilde listened to his chest and said he doesn't have a cold. He attributed Landon's coughing to saliva and mucus draining in his throat. The sneezes he says are normal as well, which we knew because he has been sneezing daily since the day he was born.

Dr. Wilde tested Landon's neck strength today by holding him out with his face towards the ground. He commented that Landon was very strong. Chad and I already knew that because he has been holding his head up really well for awhile now! Dr. Wilde tested his joints and said, "good." So all in all it was a great check up.

I drooled so much Daddy had to change my outfit
After Landon's doctor appointment, Landon went back to school and Chad went back to work. Landon doesn't have to go back to the doctor until the end of June. I believe he will get more shots then as well.

It's the Freakin' Weekend, Gonna Have Me Some Fun!

Landon had quite a busy weekend celebrating his 2 month birthday! On Friday afternoon we had his 2 month photo shoot. I haven't loaded the good photos yet, but these two made me laugh. Clearly he wasn't a fan of the photos and decided to go to sleep!

Mom, are we almost done I'm tired?

"You are going to just have to take these while I sleep"

Friday night we went to dinner with Meghan DeWitt and Stephen Theodore at a really good Mexican place near Westshore called Miguels. Landon decided to celebrate with an Enfamil bottle, he wanted to keep his crazy contained. Although, we didn't get home until midnight, look out world!

Landon and Daddy had a nice father son bonding day on Saturday. The went to the Chinese Buffett and got Daddy a hair cut at Sports Clips. All the ladies loved Landon, of course!

Mommy spent the day celebrating Amanda Pettograsso's 25th birthday with her co-workers Megan Sullivan, Stacey Bedard, and Amanda's roommate Tricia.

Cheers to Amanda!

Sunday Landon and Mommy had a BLAST working at CAE. Well, Landon actually slept most of the time which actually helped Mommy stay productive. Landon was pretty stuffy and I could hear him breathing hard while I was working so I called the pediatrician, they have Sunday hours, and they suggested that I use Little Noses Saline Spray to help clear him out since the suction wasn't working. When Landon and I got home from work, Landon had some fun playtime on his mat listening to music for a little while. He was pretty stuffy and feeling fussy, so we had to keep changing it up for him! Most of the time he just wanted to be cuddled, which actually is somewhat rare for him. The night we used the saline spray to clear out his nose. He was NOT happy about that what so ever! It worked, and he was breathing much better, but I would lie to you if I didn't mention how some of it got into his eyes. Trying to keep a newborn still while you spray saline in his nose is not easy at all! Hopefully little man starts to feel better soon!

Landon's First Day/Mommy's First Day

Happy boy at school

I think Landon had a much better first day at daycare than I did at work. It was SO hard leaving him and knowing it would be hours until I saw him again. I probably had it easier than most moms though, Chad wasn't working until 1:30 so he was home with Landon majority of the day.

Work was okay, I wasn't super productive because I was locked out of the building and locked out of my computer. Everything eventually was straightened around, but it took awhile. I pretty much spent majority of my day cleaning out my 500+ emails and catching up with all my co-workers. Believe it or not some people thought I had left the company instead of leaving for maternity leave.

I picked up Landon from school and I actually almost started crying when they were showing me how to check him out of school. Yes, I was picking him up and I almost cried.

Landon's teacher, Miss Mariah, sent me on friend request on Facebook and sends me pictures of my happy little guy. That actually makes me feel better to have some connection with him when I can't be with him.

Pop's Car Show

My dad's Porsche club was part of the Auto Fair at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. We decided to leave NC on Monday so we could check out the Auto Fair. What we didn't count on was junky weather, so we pretty much stayed by my dad's car and underneath the stands. Landon was all bundled up and sleeping for most of the time, but I think he enjoyed his first car show.

Everyone next to Pop's Porsche
Landon was so tiny, Uncle Billy wanted a picture of him hanging out in the trunk of Pop's Porsche. It was pretty funny and lots of people were talking about how cute it was. It's funny because the trunk is in the front of the car, not the back.

Landon's first car show, chilling in the trunk!
After the car show and lunch and the Speedway Club, Uncle Billy headed back to Ohio and Aunt Megan headed back to Greenville. My parents, Chad, Landon and I went home to hang out with Roxy and Wrigley. It was a nice relaxing evening before we had to leave the next day back home to Florida.

Landon's Baptism

Landon wearing Uncle Billy's baptism outfit
Landon's baptism had quite the dramatic flare! We were all ready to leave for the church at 10 AM after a delicious creme brulee French toast breakfast, when Elaine thought maybe Landon had gone to the bathroom. Chad and I were rushing so we changed him (false alarm, just pee) and headed out the door. We decided not to dress him in his baptism outfit until we got to the church because we didn't want him to get his all white outfit dirty.

We all piled into the cars, Perry, Megan, and My mom in Megan's car, Elaine, Chad, Landon, and I in my car, and my dad and Billy in my dad's Porsche. We make our half hour or so commute to the church and when we were unloading the cameras I asked Chad for Landon's baptism outfit. Well, we didn't have it. It was still hanging on the laundry room door where he put it when I needed the diaper bag to change Landon before we left.

This all happened at 10:40, 20 minutes until Landon's 11:00 baptism. My mom and Megan gave my dad my mom's camera and hopped in Megan's car to race back to my parents house. Now this part of the story I was told later on. Megan's car was on empty and their credit cards were with my dad in my mom's camera bag. My sister reassured my mom they would make it (thankfully they did) back to the church without filling up, but my mom wasn't convinced. My mom, using Megan's phone, calls her neighbor, Annette, to go into their house and grab Landon's outfit and meet them at the BP gas station. My mom and Megan get $20 from the bank so that they could get gas. They met Annette and high tailed it back to the church in record time, however not in 20 minutes, so the ceremony was delayed.

On our end at the church cousins Johnny and Katie Nickerson arrived to meet us. The church was locked and Father kept asking what was going on and if we were ready to go, reminding us that he had other obligations for the day. This made me very anxious because I wanted this day to go so smoothly and we were clearly running late.

We started the ceremony around 11:30 and everyone seemed to be a bit more relaxed. Father was explaining how everything was going to go and our explanations. We were going over the importance of the ceremony and what our answers would be and their significance as their parents and godparents when Landon let out some loud sounds from his cute little butt. Everyone was sort of stunned and the priest asked Billy who was holding Landon, if that noise was from the baby. We all laughed and my mom checked Landon's diaper and confirmed he needed to be changed. The priest said, "Well, we've been delayed this long, what is another 5 minutes?"

Chad and I rushed into the ladies room to do the fastest diaper change of our lives! I carried him out under his armpits because I was afraid to smoosh anything out of the diaper. I was trying to keep the mess contained. Johnny was video taping the ceremony and has the whole thing on film. It will probably be something the priest will never forget.

Aunt Megan laughing from Landon's explosion
Chad and I returning from our bathroom  "break"
All fresh and clean!
After all of that the ceremony resumed and went smoothly, minus the fact that Landon was fussy and crying the entire time. Megan held him while the priest baptized him and after the baptism we walked to the foot of the alter. The priest explained us how important the base of the alter, that is where Landon will make his first communion, this is where he will make his confirmation, and if he chooses to become a priest or a brother, he will do this at the base of the alter, or if he decides to get married, that will happen at the base of the alter. And when his life comes to an end, 100s of years from now, he will come to the foot of the alter for his final blessing.

After the baptism we went to the Charlotte Speedway to have a drink at the Speedway Club. Elaine, Johnny, and Katie had never been to the speedway so we took them inside to see the track and the club. It was a fun little detour. Dad and Perry went back to the house to get lunch ready, so they aren't pictured below.

Bathtime Fun

Before Landon's baptism he had a bath in Nana and Pop's bathroom sink. It's funny how small he is that he fit perfectly in their sink! He was all super clean and ready for his big day!

Perfect Fit!

Visit to Punta Gorda

Landon, Chad, and I went to tour All Kids Academy where Landon will be starting "school" on Tuesday the 24th. Everyone was super nice and excited for Landon to start which made me feel so much better. It won't be easy dropping him off and knowing I won't get to spend every day with them, but at least I will know he is in good hands.

After the day care visit, Chad went to work and Landon and I headed to Punta Gorda to have lunch with Aunt Maureen and Uncle Jim. Aunt Maureen had set up our visit the day before and it was a surprise for Uncle Jim. He couldn't believe we would drive the almost 2 hours just for lunch, but I wanted to spend more time with him. We ate at this nice place on the water in downtown Punta Gorda. After lunch Uncle Jim left for his trip to Miami and we went with Aunt Maureen to pick up Scot and Brian from school.

Landon and I headed back to the Hundt's house for a little bit so the boys could hang out with Landon for a bit before we headed back to Tampa. We had to meet Chad at Beef O'Brady's for dinner with some of his friends that he hasn't seen in awhile. It was a really nice day!

Visitors!

Landon had another Chicago visitor this week! My mom's brother, Uncle Jim, was in town on business so he stopped over to visit for a little while and meet Landon. It was so nice to see him and visit. Landon was a little bit fussy during the visit and then fell asleep for a little bit, maybe we were boring him!

Today Landon watched his first Disney movie! I have no idea why it took him so long, I mean, he should have knocked out half the collection by now, he is 7 weeks old! I am also unsure why I chose a one where the mother dies, but really I guess it's better than some movies where there is no mother at all! Perhaps next I will show him Lion King, balance out the death ratio of mother and father. Anyway, Landon loved all the colors and the music, even if he didn't have a clue to the story line! :)

Rattles are fun!

Today Landon tried out wrist/ankle rattles for the first time. I'm not sure if he really notices or likes the sounds, but he was laughing at something!

He is just a super smiling baby today! It must be that he wants to live up to his shirt that says, "I'm Whaley Cute, " which he is, of course!

Wrigley really likes the rattles too! He is pretty confused on why Landon's toys make a lot of the same noises that his toys make, but he can't play with them. Wrigley really loves Landon's toy mat.

My two cute little guys!

What are you looking at?

Happy 7 weeks little man!

Brothers! 2 more pounds and Landon will out weigh Wrigley!
Landon had a very exciting day celebrating his 7 week old birthday. We watched Zachary today, and it was so much fun to have him for the day. Zachary was so cute, he kept telling me how he wanted a baby brother or sister like Landon. He even said this after Landon pooped through his own clothes and on to Zachary!

Cousin Love
Landon has a slight rash on his face, it started last Sunday and it hasn't really improved, so we decided to have his pediatrician check it out. Which started some phone calls on why Landon has not been added to our insurance. So, once again my company has dropped the ball! I faxed the paperwork weeks ago, but my company benefits people never sent the information to Aetna. After some time on the phone with my company, insurance, and the doctors office, we came to agree that it would work out and we were able to schedule our appointment for today.

We met Dr. Wilde at 2:20 today about Landon's rash. He said it is probably not allergy related, that it is something we should just watch. He gave us some Aveeno baby lotion for eczema, he told us to try it on one side of his face and see if it helps make a change. We are watching how much contact we have with his face too.

In other news, Landon weighed in at 10 lb 8 oz with a wet diaper. We weighed the diaper afterwards and it weighed 3 oz, so it looks like we have a 10 lb 5 oz baby on our hands! Chad laughed and said he is gaining weight because he has been eating so much! :) He is eating 5 ounces for every bottle and will probably be up to 6 ounces soon!

Chad had to go to work after the doctors appointment so Zachary, Landon, and I hung out at the house. Zachary helped me change Landon's diaper. He loves Landon so much, it's adorable!

Bye Bye Auntie D

Thank you Danielle for visiting us!
Landon loves his new Cubs onesies and his Cubs stuffed Mickey Mouse and blanket, they are perfect!

While Danielle was in town there were lots of cute photos of Landon that I want to share with everyone. Enjoy them!

Landon loves his Auntie D!

Danielle's Mom made Landon the super cute Winnie the Pooh pillow with Landon's name on it.
We just love it! Thanks Mamma Voss!

Saturday Fun Day

Saturday was a blast! Danielle and I decided to take Landon on his 3rd trip to Tarpon Springs for some gyros! Almost 7 weeks old and Landon has been around the area more than most, now he can add the Greek Easter celebration to his list. We forgot about the Orthodox Easter until we got to the Tarpon Sponge Docks and it was jammed! They blocked off the street and had a little arts and craft show going on and people were everywhere.

The weather was beautiful! It was such a nice day to be out and about walking around. It was really warm out, so we had to use the stroller fan. Once again, Landon was quiet the hit! The stroller fan sure is popular and Landon is so cute everyone wants to meet him. :)

Saturday night Chad, Danielle, Landon, and I went to the Clearwater Thresher's game. Chad wore the baby carrier and Landon was not so sure about it at first, but he was fine the entire, even fell asleep in there he was so comfy.
Uh, dad? I'm not so sure about this!
We picked the Saturday Thresher's game because there were going to be fireworks after the game. We all love fireworks and we thought it would be fun for Landon. He loved them! He kept staring at all the bright colors and wasn't scared of the big booms.

Landon's first firework show!

We had a really good night and the weather was perfect!
