Landon and Mommy made a 12 hour trip to Greenville, North Carolina to watch Aunt Megan graduate from East Carolina University. Landon was a traveling champ! He pretty much slept most of the time, I guess the back seat of the car isn't that entertaining, and was really only fussy towards the end of the ride when he was just over it. I'm really proud of his traveling skills!

Landon having his mid afternoon snack and diaper change in a booth at BoJangles. They don't have a baby changing station in their bathroom, so the booth worked out pretty well! |
We arrived on Thursday early evening and met up with my parents, Billy, and Megan. That night we went out to dinner at a place called Tripp's, they had 1/2 price bottles of wine, it was pretty much a selling point! Mommy was suppose to go out to the country bar with Nana, Pops, Uncle Billy and Aunt Megan but that didn't happen. Billy and Megan ended up partying the night away. Landon work up around 1 and 3 to check and see if anyone was home. When we got up for the day at 6:30, no one was around but us!

He was such a happy boy on Friday morning. We took this picture for daddy! |

Landon was super comfy on pops! |
Friday we took Landon to the pool. It was a little cold so he wasn't too thrilled swimming with us, but we took some photos! He then dried off, Nana fed him his bottle and he took a little nap.
Megan's first graduation was a small one for her Spanish degree. Landon spent the entire time looking at Pops and laughing. He even let out a little squeal, it was pretty funny! After her Spanish graduation they had a little reception with cake (again), drinks, and some cheese and crackers. We hung out there for a little bit and then headed to Little Washington, about an hour away, for dinner on the river. We had some drinks and some really good food. We just hung out and had some quality family time.
Saturday was Megan's big business school graduation. This one was much bigger and lasted a whole lot longer. Landon stayed awake for most of it. It was actually really funny, when Megan started her way up to the stage he was fighting sleep pretty bad. Then she got her "diploma" and crossed the stage and he just zonked out. It was like he stayed awake just long enough to watch her graduate.
After graduation we had a tailgate toast with beers in the parking lot and then went over to Sup Dawg's for lunch with the graduate! After lunch we went around campus taking photos, lots of photos! We went to dinner at O'Charley's and watched the end of the Kentucky Derby (the horse I picked won!) and some of the NASCAR race.
That night Landon had his first babysitter, Katie, one of Megan's service sorority sisters. I was only gone for about 2 hours and we were probably only a 5 minute walk from each other! He slept the entire time, so he didn't benefit from the mom is gone do whatever we want thing, maybe next time. :) We went to Megan's work, it's a hotel bistro, to see this country singer perform, Emily Minor. She was really good!
Then Landon had another first, we spent the night in my parents hotel room so we could leave from there early the next morning. It made the most sense, so we made Landon a blanket bed on the floor and I slept on the pull out couch.
Landon and I got on the road about 7:30 and headed home. We made pretty good time for the amount of stops we made. We got home around 7 PM, and Chad was there waiting for us with bottles! A beer bottle for me and an Enfamil bottle for Landon, it was perfect!
Landon again was a really good travel buddy. We took 95 all the way down to Daytona and then took 1-4 across to 75. We wanted to avoid Gainesville because Florida was having all their graduations, we didn't want to get stuck in that traffic. At one point past Daytona and 1-4 Landon started screaming on the top of his lungs, I found the nearest exit and got in the backseat to try and calm him down. As soon as he saw me he stopped crying and started smiling. It was cute, but we still had an hour and some left in our drive and I really just wanted to get home! I changed his diaper and gave him a little pep talk. He cried some more and finally fell asleep.

We passed "The South of the Border" because we took 95.

"You never sausage a place!" was my favorite billboard. |
