It was a sad day in the Diffenderfer household, we packed up Landon's newborn wardrobe and used the last of the newborn diapers. Our little boy is getting so big! Well, mainly he is getting so tall! The 0 to 3 and 3 months outfits fit him lengthwise, but it might be a little while until he is able to fill them out.
Friends of my parents have a little boy, Kooper, and they sent me a bunch of his old clothes, several of them name brand with the tags still on them. So, Landon will be in style for his first day of daycare! First impressions go a long way so he has to look good ;)
This blog is to keep our friends and family informed of what is going on with us.

Play Time Fun
Landon is starting to coo and react to things surrounding him. It is so neat to watch him grow! I know he doesn't have full control over his hands or feet, but it is fun to watch him grab and kick at toys. He is constantly moving, he doesn't like to sit still! We have no idea where he gets that from, I'm pretty sure it is from his dad! Ha ha! :)

Uncle Billy's Visit
| Uncle Billy and his nephews |
Landon had a really fun time bonding with Uncle Billy while he was in town for a conference. Uncle Billy even watched Landon for a little bit and experienced (Billy's) first major blow out diaper! Lucky Uncle Billy! While Billy was here Landon showed him the town. We took him to Tarpon Springs and John's Pass at Indian Rocks Beach, Landon's 2nd time at both places. Landon also had his first sushi outing while Uncle Billy was in town and we went to a cupcake party at the Sullivan's house and watched some March Madness. We had a very busy and eventful time together! It was too short, but Landon is looking forward to seeing Uncle Billy again at his baptism.

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo! How about you, you, you?
We spent Friday morning at Landon's cardiologist appointment at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. They wanted to check out his murmur they found in the hospital, they weren't too concerned because they requested the appointment a month after he was born.Well, we have the results, he is healthy!
He still has the slight murmur but she said it is called the "insignificant murmur" and won't effect him at all. The patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) that the cardiologist was worried about closed like they thought it would. However, there is one little valve in his heart that hasn't closed yet, but they are not concerned. The cardiologist told us that this is common in infants and can take up to about a year to close up. Apparently it plays a key role while the baby is in the womb. It doesn't effect anything after birth, so we won't worry if they don't worry! However, they want to see us back after he is 1 years old. So all good news there!
After the cardiologist appointment we went to the Lowry Park Zoo for the afternoon. Our friend Ashely had free passes that were going to expire so she kindly gave them to us. It was really nice to walk around and see all the animals. Again, Landon slept most of the afternoon, but we woke him up for some photos.
We were actually pretty popular at the zoo. Moms just loved Landon's cool stroller fan (thank you cousin Lacey!) and his sun shield cover. Dads loved Chad's shirt that says, "this guy loves the Cubs" (thank you Natalie!). It was a pretty successful day!
After the zoo we went and had dinner in Oldsmar at this pizza place called Pinocchio's with some of Chad's family. Landon met Aunt Lyn, Uncle John, Aunt Roxanne, and cousins from Chicago, Mike, Jennifer, Max, and Katie as well. Grandpa (Landon's Great Grandpa) was also at dinner. It was really nice to see everyone! And the pizza was awesome!

Shots, Shots, Shots ... EVERYBODY!
To celebrate Aunt Megan's 22nd birthday, the Diffenderfer family decided to do shots. Oops, I mean we all decided to get shots! Landon recieved his 2nd shot in the hep B series and did pretty well. He was a bit shocked by the pain and then cried a little bit. (And slept off the rest of the day!) Mommy and Daddy on the other hand were pretty brave and didn't shed any tears when the got their Tdap shots!
Landon weighed in over 8 pounds! 8 pounds 11 ounces to be exact, he is a growing boy! He is 22 inches long, so he grew a 1/2 inch in 2 weeks. We aren't really sure where this tall and skinny thing is coming from, clearly not his parents. Sadly, this will be our last week in newborn clothes, he is getting too long for them. The 0 to 3 are a little wide, but the length is good for him.
The doctor said that Landon is doing great and to keep on doing what we are doing! He is eating about 4 ounces very 3 to 5 hours and is even having some longer stretches at night. We are looking forward to when he can sleep through the night and we aren't waking up and waking eachother up to go feed him.

Snoring Landon
Looks like our household will continue to be super noisy at night! Landon is a snoring machine! I guess since our dog snores in addition to Chad, it just makes sense that Landon would join the group.
You have to listen closely to hear it.

Month 1 in Review
Landon has had a VERY busy first month of life! Nana Willis and Pops Willis came to town before Landon was born and Nana stayed until March 12th. Pops left before Landon came home, but flew back to Florida to celebrate his 50th birthday. So, at only 5 days old Landon was partying it up at Bonefish for Pops birthday and at Maggiano's the next night. He has some pretty fancy dining out taste! Aunt Megan was also in town for her spring break and to help us out and get Landon settled. It was nice to have so much help! Aunt Megan shared a room with Landon and was on the night duty so Chad and I could sleep, it was an amazing gift!
After Pops left, Nana, Aunt, Megan, and I spent lots of time shopping for Landon's new clothes, hosting visitors, and touring the area. Landon loved Tarpon Springs! Nana and I even forced Chad and Landon to a photo shoot at Clearwater Beach and another at Howard Park Beach.
Landon met his Great Grandpa Stahlhut (Big Grandpa) and Chad was able to come home on a lunch break to be with his grandpa when he met Landon. It was so sweet!
Cousin Zachary finally met Landon and was in love with him. He wanted to help me care for him by feeding him and changing him. He was so excited when Landon came to his birthday party on March 17th. Zachary kept asking me to make sure he knew when Landon was awake. He also wanted to hold him, even though he had all these kids there. It was super sweet!
Chad and I took Landon out to celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Wiregrass Mall. We hung out at Prime Bar and Brass Tap, they had a little block party with live bands and lots of Irish food and beer. Landon was quite the talk of the party, everyone was saying how cute he was and how adorable his little outfit was! He pretty much slept the entire time, but we took pictures so he'd remember his first celebration!
Landon had his first real bath on March 18th. He loved it! We weren't sure how he would do because he wasn't a huge fan of being naked, but apparently he had no issues with hanging out in warm water.
March 21st Landon went with his friend Amelia to meet the Easter Bunny at Wiregrass Mall. They had a little celebration going on at the mall for the kids to welcome the Easter Bunny to town. Amelia was not to keen on the Easter Bunny and wanted Landon to go first. He wasn't really phased by the fact he was in the arms of a bunny and not mom. The picture was pretty cute!
In the celebration of Landon's 1 month birthday Uncle Billy came to town for his conference in Tampa. Landon was super excited and decided to stay up all night partying with mom and dad. By partying, I mean fussy and crying. We had our first real moment of "what do we do now?" and called the doctors answering service. They gave us some things to look for and pretty much told us he is having a growth spurt and might have some gas issues. We both felt so much better after the doctor told us that he was fine and made sure we were handling Landon's screaming pretty well.
Wrigley did really well in his role of big brother. At first when Landon arrived on the scene Wrigley ignored him, I believe in hopes he would eventually go away. However, Wrigley learned quick that this crying little thing that had mom's full attention was here to stay! Wrigley had some issues sharing mom, but soon become protective of Landon. He would sit very close (pretty much on top) of anyone who was holding Landon and when Landon would cry, Wrigley would be on the scene to investigate. It was very cute!
